I loved the way their relationship was based on an authentic connection and it felt like a natural progression. I also enjoyed the family relationships. You’ve got small town, single parent (to two adorable identical twin 11 yo girls), two damaged people that are both running from their trauma (one a cop that was shot and suffering with PTSD, and one who fled a crime lord husband and has a new identity), landlord-tenant, and a partridge in a pear tree.This was a very enjoyable read that kept me pulled in until I finished it all in one shot. Neither Crew or Tennyson were looking for a relationship, and both thought they were never going to be ready for one. But they manage to move from strangers to friends, then friends with benefits, to more pretty seamlessly. His twins were precious little matchmakers, and were written beautifully. The story flowed organically and nothing felt forced or contrived. There were some emotional moments that really hit you in the feels, some steamy moments, and a few laughs. I loved watching them find their way and making it all work.
