An instant USA Today & Indie bestseller From Hugo, Nebula, and Locus award-winning author T. Kingfisher comes an original and subversive fantasy adventure. This isn't the kind of fairy tale where the princess marries a prince. It's the one where she kills him.Marra ― a shy, convent-raised, third-born daughter ― is relieved not to be married off for the sake of her parents’ throne. Her older sister wasn’t so fortunate though, and her royal husband is as abusive as he is powerful. From the safety of the convent, Marra wonders who will come to her sister’s rescue and put a stop to this. But after years of watching their families and kingdoms pretend all is well, Marra realizes if any hero is coming, it will have to be Marra herself. If Marra can complete three impossible tasks, a witch will grant her the tools she needs. But, as is the way in stories of princes and the impossible, these tasks are only the beginning of Marra’s strange and enchanting journey to save her sister and topple a throne.“Wholly entertaining."―Buzzfeed“The kind of book that immediately feels like an old friend.”―Melissa Caruso, author of The Tethered Mage"Clever and bold-hearted . . . this rollicking feminist fairy tale is filled with redemption, community and courage, its dark passages the road to a satisfyingly uplifting endgame."―Shelf Awareness, starred review“A modern classic.”―Seanan McGuire, New York Times bestselling author of Every Heart A Doorway“Pure delight. T. Kingfisher uses the bones of fairy tale to create something entirely her own.”―Emily Tesh, author of Silver in the Wood“Highly recommended for fans of Naomi Novik’s Uprooted and Helen Oyeyemi’s Gingerbread."―Booklist, starred review

4.8 / 5.0Imagine a world of blessings and curses, life and death magic, monsters and heroes. Now flip it on its head and the good are evil, and it’s in evil you find the good. This story is exquisite. The characters are so very poignant and they stay true to themselves. No one is wasted or cast aside in the telling of this sister’s quest to free her family from the power and abuse of a sick man. The FL (Marra) is Dorthy, following the yellow brick road to The Emerald City where she and her merry band of mismatched friends seek to save the innocent from opposing forces. Throw in some fairy blessings, and even a wicked godmother crashing a christening, and this story will be one of your favorites as well.It is so well written and very quick-paced after about 30%. There are flashbacks in the first 10 chapter to help you understand the background and setup, and then it just goes pretty much nonstop to the end. I really enjoyed the textile and fiber artistry of the FL and that it is integral to the plot. Each character is purposeful and needed to the plot to come to a satisfying conclusion.I absolutely recommend this book and wish there could be a small epilogue or sequel novella about the prisoners of the goblin market.Until Next TimeMC Nettle & Bone PDF Kindle Download gratuito I am really loving this author. The characters are so perfect and the story strings along so smoothly. I didn’t even realize how late into the night it was when I read the end. Another amazing read! PDF Nettle & Bone read kindle Kingfisher has become one of my favorite authors. Her sense of humor is one I really enjoy, I have so much fun when I read her books. Nettle and Bone was exactly what I’ve come to expect from Kingfisher’s bools. Nettle and Bone is a standalone tale with interesting characters, on a journey they will most likely not survive, with some strange happenings along the way.Marra is a princess and almost nun on a mission. One sister was married off to a prince and died, the next sister married to the same prince is living a horrible abused life. Marra has taken it on herself to find a way to save her sister and if she has to do three impossible tasks to get the dust-wife’s help to do it, so be it.Marra is so easy to like. When we first meet her, she is trying to accomplish one of the impossible tasks, building a dog out of bones. It should be impossible, but Marra has found the right bones so why not do improbable things. We learn she is on a mission to save her living sister and avenge the sister that died mysteriously. Hard not to get on board with that. Marra has lived as a nun, the sister in reserve just in case there is another tragedy and then she will be sent to live with the same awful prince who was the destruction of her sisters. No thank you!On the journey to the Northlands she picks up a little help for her quest. An old Dust-wife with a demon possessed chicken, a Knight fallen from favor and an interesting yet reluctant fairy godmother. All will play an important role. I will say I didn’t expect the chicken in this marry band. They are off to break a curse and save the only sister Marra has left.I love the worlds the T. Kingfisher builds. The magic is never overdone and there is always something unexpected in it, like the puppet. Her romances are pretty subtle as well and Fenrin, the disgraced Knight they found in a goblin market, because yes there was a trip to the goblin market, was a perfect love interest for our almost-a-nun-princess. The Dust-wife is always there with a fun observation or crazy statement and Marra’s fairy godmother, well lets just say she was a surprise who says all fairy godmothers have nice magic?Overall, this is a fun story with a satisfying conclusion, fun moments and not quite enough kissing. But I loved it all the same. As always T. Kingfisher has delivered a book I loved and will recommend and read again.“How did you get a demon in your chicken?''The usual way. Couldn't put it in the rooster. That's how you get basilisks.”Narration:Amara Jasper was a great find for this narration. She performed the story well adding to the humor and sometimes the creepiness that was happening. I really enjoyed what she brought to the story and her portrayal of all the voices. This was first interaction with her and I had a great time with it. I was able to listen at my usual 1.5x speed. ePUB Nettle & Bone ebook online T. Kingfisher really can tell a good story and this book is absolutely a good story. Marra is a reluctant heroine and third daughter of the ruler of a very small kingdom. The story reads like a fairy tale with an evil villain, a fairy godmother curse, witches, fairies, a brave heroine, and more. Yet, even as you recognize the story as being like a fairy tale, you will not recognize the story. It is new, creative, and highly entertaining. There are some touches of humor, some moments of high tension, a touch of romance, and a good heroine. Marra’s team for the quest is quirky (a demon possessed chicken for one example) but each “person” has an important role to play. I will not summarize the story here, because it is best if it unfolds for you as the author intended. After all, she is the talented author, not me. The writing is fluent, the pacing is brisk, and the pages turn quickly. Bottomline: fun and entertaining. I purchased this book as a Kindle deal so the ratio of price to entertainment value was excellent. (PDF) Nettle & Bone This story took til about half way to really get going, probably because the beginning was threaded oddly and at least one transitional piece was sorely lacking. But once it did begin to roll, I enjoyed it and the climactic parts a lot
