Clock Striker, now in graphic novel format, follows Shonen manga’s first Black female lead hero, Cast, in her quest to become a member of the SMITHS, the legendary warrior engineers. Cast dreams of being a SMITH, and though she’s rather handy with her tools, no one in her small town ever realizes their dreams. Besides, these legendary warrior engineers haven’t been seen in years and were never known for having female members. Fortunately, Cast meets one surviving member named Ms. Philomena Clock, who agrees to take her on as her apprentice, or striker. Now Cast is thrust into one deadly adventure after another! From cybernetic desperadoes to technology thieves and more, Cast has to use her mind and her remodeled robotics-lab prosthetic hand, which offers unfathomable offensive power in the form of scientific experiments. Need lightning? Cast can generate it from her hand! Cast’s mentor seeks to uncover an ominous mystery that explains what happened to the SMITHS and shines a light on a hidden power that may be within Cast herself. Can Cast become a new member of the SMITHS? More importantly, can Cast survive the process to become a SMITH?Clock Striker is rated T for Teen, recommended for ages 13 and up. No regrets here, everything about this manga hits just right to get you invested in the story. The major characters are really well written and multi dimensional so it's easy to want to follow their journey. The main character, Cast, is the perfect main character for this world of science and machines. This applies to the villains as well, there are some super cool enemies here that make the fights fun to see play out. The fight scenes as a whole are really strong and live up to what makes shonen manga great. At the same time there's also a somber maturity to the series that grounds it too.I love the worldbuilding too. The technology and mystery of the world makes you want to find out more, that's a huge plus. The artwork as well, it brings so much life to the book. Really stunning visuals on display. There's a classic feeling to the art as well imo, it took me back to the early 2000s which is an era of anime and manga that I love to this day.Highly recommend! Clock Striker, Volume 1: "I'm Gonna Be a SMITH!" (Saturday AM TANKS / Clock Striker, 1) PDF Kindle Online pdf online If you're like me, you probably remember being a teenager and hanging out in the manga section of the local library or bookstore and zoning out with a paperback like this one. Clock Striker has the look and feel of a lost series from around the same time as One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, or Rave Master.Reading this as an adult, it feels very much like a series that's familiar even though it's brand new. This is not to say Clock Striker is merely retreading old ground from classic Shounen manga, and it very much has its own identity. I personally like how thoughtfully the main character Cast was written, especially with regards to her disability, (she's missing her left hand and needed to build a replacement.)If any of this seems interesting to you, I'd say give it a read. I don't think you'll be disappointed. PDF Clock Striker, Volume 1: "I'm Gonna Be a SMITH!" (Saturday AM TANKS / Clock Striker, 1) pdf online Out of all the manga I read this particular one pulled me in the fastest, sent me on an emotional roller coaster, and kept me fully invested until the very end. The artwork is every well done, the story is so intriguing and Cast being a black female protag was just icing on the cake. The representation of Cast is another strong point, the mannerisms, her hair and so much else gave me such a sigh a relief that it wasn't just tokenism.I look forward to pre ordering the next vol as soon as it comes out, which hopefully will be soon because I am at the edge of my seat after that teaser page at the end of vol 1. ePUB Clock Striker, Volume 1: "I'm Gonna Be a SMITH!" (Saturday AM TANKS / Clock Striker, 1) scarica ebook online A really fun read and different enough from other Shonen manga to stand out but not feel out of place with what you would expect from the same type of manga. The characters are great and entertaining as well as very well grounded I want to say. Cast's intelligent of engineering fit the world so well and definitely stand her out from other Shonen protagonist but her caring and determined personality is still very reminiscent of others, like I can see her getting along with someone like Deku or Luffy. The world building is so interesting and mysterious it got me hook, I seriously can't wait to read more about it when the next volume comes out. [PDF] Downloads Clock Striker, Volume 1: "I'm Gonna Be a SMITH!" (Saturday AM TANKS / Clock Striker, 1) I love the read so far! The story is good & enjoyable. The art is amazing, also it’s cool seeing French influence when it comes to power move names, sounds and the characters’ names etc., & of course I love the main character being a young black girl. Amazing to see. Can’t wait for the second volume
